WE INVITE YOU TO WALK THE WAY OF PEACE WITH US!

EPF is a Fellowship. We intentionally join hands through prayer, study, and collaborative action. We are a Peace Fellowship. Our core value is peace.
As Albert Einstein said, “Peace is not merely the absence of war but the presence of justice, of law, of order.”

We are specifically the Episcopal Peace Fellowship. Our shared life of non-violent peace building is part and parcel of our faith, grounded in Scripture, Tradition, and Reason. We vow in our Baptismal Covenant to work for justice and peace and to respect the dignity of all people. Our Word & Sacrament worship forms us for lives of sharing the peace Jesus gives us and being transformed ourselves in the process. Sharing peace is Holy Communion in daily life.

Following the Prince of Peace, we join hands for substantive peace, to resist and eradicate both overt violence and all systemic violence that wounds, diminishes, or dismisses the humanity and value of God’s children. We do this through our action groups, partnering with other advocacy organizations, and connecting people to issue-focused advocacy groups. We join hands for nonviolent engagement as our process for personal and societal transformation. We join hands to become people of peace as individuals and as a fellowship, confronting violence in our hearts as well as the outer world, equipping, empowering, and sustaining one another for the practice of peace.

We invite you to join hands with us by becoming a member of the Episcopal Peace Fellowship.

We have four forms of membership so you can choose the way that works best for you:

Individual Member
Covenants to strive to become a person of peace and to pray for other members to become instruments of Christ’s peace in the world; to lend support to the causes embraced by EPF consistent with the member’s conscience; and pay annual dues of $50. Parish Peace Partner
Covenants to become a community of peace in whatever way works best in the congregation (offering an annual class on conflict resolution, anti-racism training, learning about specific forms of systemic violence, etc.) and to pray for other members to become instruments of Christ's peace; to lend support to the causes embraced by EPF consistent with the discernment of the congregation; and pay annual dues of $250. Chapter Peace Partner
A chapter is a group of supporters who may or may not be members of the same parish. EPF Commitment Pledge

In loyalty to the teaching, and person of Jesus Christ, my conscience commits me to the way of redemptive love: to pray, study, and work for peace, and to renounce, as far as possible, participation in war, militarism, and all other forms of violence.

In fellowship with others, I will work to discover and create alternatives to violence and to build a culture of peace. I urge the Episcopal Church in accordance with our baptismal vows “to renounce the evil powers of this world which corrupt and destroy the creatures of God”, and to wage peace across all boundaries, calling upon people everywhere to repent, to forgive, and to love.
